Import of sanitary and hygienic products to Brazil from the Republic of Belarus

The requirements for the import of sanitary products to Brazil have a number of features.

The body regulating the requirements and exercising control over personal hygiene products is the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA).

Import of products to Brazil is possible after searching for a Brazilian distribution company. The distributor must obtain a permit for the sale of personal care products from the Brazilian Federal Tax Service (Receita Federal); obtain a permit and register the goods with ANVISA; appoint a technical manager responsible for imported products and interaction with ANVISA.

Personal hygiene products are subject to registration in the form of ANVISA advance notification. To complete this procedure:

Product samples are delivered to an accredited laboratory in Brazil for research on the main parameters, or research protocols performed by an ANVISA-recognized laboratory are used.
The manufacturer, together with an authorized representative (Brazilian distributor), prepare technical documentation: a dossier and a summary of the product with the application of research results.
The authorized representative submits an electronic notification to ANVISA with a summary of the products attached. The product dossier is kept by an authorized representative.
